The Salvation Army 2019 Community Day and Back Pack Giveaway

What are we celebrating at the Saginaw Salvation Army? We are celebrating our community, our strength, our families, friends, and neighbors. We are celebrating how we care for and take care of each other in Saginaw. We are coming together to ensure our children have the supplies and confidence they need to face the school year ready for success. We’re celebrating all that our children have already and will continue to accomplish. We are coming together to celebrate everything good about Saginaw!

Come celebrate with us on August 14th from 5p-7p at the Saginaw Salvation Army Community Center at 2024 N Carolina Street.

Thank-You to Our Partners & Contributors!

We are so thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with Walmart this year for our recent Stuff the Bus Event, that showed an overwhelming outpouring of support and donations to make our community day possible. It has been absolutely amazing to see the Saginaw community come together and contribute to our children’s educational endeavors. Several partners like Forester’s Financial, UPS, and the MI Talent Investment Agency donated backpacks, school supplies, and volunteered their time to lovingly pack back packs for our community.

Dental Services & Haircuts

We are excited to have the Great Lakes Bay Health Center’s mobile dental clinic on site to take care of back to school dental needs and Great Clips stylists will also be on site to provide back to school style with free haircuts for Saginaw children. Kids, you are going to be 100% school ready!

Fun, Games & Food

But wait…there’s more! It wouldn’t be a celebration without fun games, cool prizes, and raffle gifts. While we’re at it we’d like to treat you to cotton candy, popcorn, and other tasty treats. All this is unbelievable, right? NO! The Saginaw community made this possible- OF COURSE it’s going to be AMAZING- that’s what we do best so make sure you’re here next Wednesday! Stay a while, let your imagination go wild and get creative at the arts and crafts table. There will something fun for everyone and no shortage of smiles and laughter. We will also have a variety of children’s books for all ages at our literacy table, generously provided by donation, which will be available while supplies last.

In addition, the Food Bank of Eastern MI will be providing produce and Hidden Harvest will be providing bakery goods to be packaged and distributed FREE to the community at the event. We are incredible thankful for their support with giving families a nutritious, delicious boost!

You don’t want to miss this!

Mark your calendars for August 14th, 5p-7p at The Salvation Army Community Center at 2024 N. Carolina Street.

Come celebrate with us, we can’t wait to see you there!

PLEASE NOTE: Children must be present to receive a back pack, photo id must be provided proving Saginaw county residency, while supplies last
