The Great Lakes Bay Region (GLBR) is home to a variety of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) destinations and programs. Visit or attend events (in-person or virtual) at five (5) or more of the participating destinations and you’ll receive a $25 gift card on behalf of the GLBR STEM Initiative & MiSTEM Network.

Enjoy a complimentary hot cup while browsing the shops or stopping for lunch. Included is making an ornament with the Woodworker to take home with you!

Golf Cart Parade and Tree Lighting

DESCRIPTION: Meet us at Showboat Park to participate in the second annual, first IN PERSON golf cart parade!! Parade begins at 5:30pm and is heading down Front Street. Parade is ending at Riverfront Grille where Santa will light the RFG Christmas Tree.

Chesaning Candle Walk

WHERE: Cole Park, Chesaning

WHEN: Friday, November 26, at 6-9 pm

DESCRIPTION: The streets will be lined with traditional luminaries and Christmas lights with gingerbread houses on display in storefront windows. Christmas-themed chalk art and inflatable decorations will line the walking path in Cole Park, and food and craft vendors will be located on the walking path near the Village offices.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, we will have live reindeer on display, weather permitting, as well as horse drawn carriage rides.

DESCRIPTION: Santa will be arriving in Downtown Midland on November 27, 2021, at 6 PM. Santa will begin his trek over the Tridge at 6 PM, arriving at the Santa House shortly after to light up the Santa House and adjacent Courthouse. It’s a magical evening each year when the lights go on in front of Midland’s Courthouse, and, for many children and adults, the holidays begin! Every year the courthouse lighting heralds Santa’s arrival and the opening of his house for visitors young and old alike.

Jingle Bell Fun Run Walk

WHERE: Main St., Midland

WHEN: Thursday, December 2 at 6:30-8 pm

DESCRIPTION: This fun, free 1-mile run or walk begins at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Ashman and Main Streets in Downtown Midland. It’s not a timed race, so people of all ages are welcome to take their time and come dressed in their best festive gear (holiday sweaters, Santa hats, cool socks, etc.). All registered participants will receive a jingle bell necklace to wear during the event. Furry friends and strollers are welcome – the more, the merrier!

Instead of a registration fee, participants are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry for the holidays.

A Night with Santa and Lighted Orchard

WHERE: 7475 N River Rd Freeland

WHEN: Friday, December 3 at 5:30 – 8:30 pm

DESCRIPTION: Visit Leaman’s Green Applebarn to experience Christmas on the farm. Walk through our lighted orchard where every branch is strung with lights. Hop on the hay wagon to enjoy a lighted ride through the farm fields and orchard. After your wagon ride warm up next to the fire while roasting marshmallows. Once you’re all sugared up, be sure to visit the man himself, Santa Claus.
